The Island of Your Dreams Awaits – Högkopplan in Suvisaaristo

Högkopplan, 02380 Espoo

Auction, Country home, Private Island | Huvi- ja viihdealueen kaavalla YV-1 useiden erillisrakennusten lomasaari

Description

Have you ever dreamed of owning your own island and continuing its hospitality and leisure activities? Högkopplan, located in Suvisaaristo, is the perfect destination for this purpose.

Since 1948, the island’s properties have served as a summer retreat for Yleisradio employees. The oldest building on Högkopplan is the main building, constructed in 1921, which once functioned as a restaurant. In addition, the island has several other buildings suitable for accommodation and leisure. However, all the buildings require renovation, giving you a unique opportunity to influence the outcome and create an inviting environment for future guests. It is important to note that some of the premises have been found to have structural and indoor air quality issues.

There is also potential for additional construction on the island: preliminary inquiries suggest that residential buildings could be constructed, as there is still unused building rights on the island. This, however, would require a planning solution.

Högkopplan is a stunning rocky island, part of the Kopplorna island group in Suvisaaristo. The group also includes Träskkopplan, Malmkopplan, and Hamnkopplan. The nature on Högkopplan and its surroundings mainly consists of blueberry-type pine forests, rocky woods, and exposed rock areas. The western and southwestern shores of the island feature extensive bare rocky beaches, with a sandy beach on the western side.

Högkopplan is about 20 kilometers by boat from Helsinki and only 4.5 kilometers, or about a 10-minute boat ride, from the nearby Byviken harbor. The Suvisaaristo area has been inhabited since Viking times and later became a center for fishing communities. In the 20th century, it developed into a popular leisure destination for residents of the capital region.

The Högkopplan area is zoned for buildings suitable for recreational and entertainment purposes, and public access to the island must be maintained. The shoreline areas should also be preserved in their natural state, highlighting the island’s unique nature and environment.

If you dream of owning your own island and wish to continue its distinguished history, Högkopplan offers a unique opportunity to do so.

In 2024, several assessments have been conducted on the property, including a Building and Cultural History Study, an Inventory of Buildings and Structures, and a Nature Study.
